The post about transfering a site with cpanel is a couple years old. I just want to confirm that this is still a viable option. Also, would you recommend I do the switch on a Friday, since this is for an organization, that way there's less real email loss? Also, it's about 200MB total. Is that too large? Sorry if I'm being repetitive.

I have one author, and one blog, and I don't actually use it as blog format. My mother-in-law is a real estate agent, and I use it to put listings on her site for her. So I'm unsure where that qualifies.

I haven't updated anything on my MT site for over a month, but I'm running into some issues. I'm getting an 500 error every time I try to upload a picture. This is a real problem for the site I'm using it on. Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. So I go to the error log and find this. [sat Feb 12 11:56:46 2005] [error] [client IP ADDRESS] Premature end of script headers: /home/SITEUSERNAME/public_html/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi Anybody run into something like this before? EDIT: Here's the weird thing. I have two sites with TCH. One this is happening on, the other, it's not. Any suggestions on files I can/should move over from the one that it's working to the one that it's not?

I think so. I've got two silver plans right now. So, apart from the convienence, it doesn't make sense until I get 4?
-
ah, yes that does help.... so since I've got your attention.... the reseller accounts.... basically it's 20 bucks for a simple reseller account, right? And that gives slightly more space and less bandwidth than one silver plan for regular? So, unless I'm really "re-selling" it wouldn't make sense to have a reseller account? And even then.... I still don't get it.

I'm new to the subdomain dept.... Assumption 1: subdomain in bold = sub.**** ? Correct? Here's the real issue I'm getting at. Can I purchase another domain, and have it point to sub.**** . In other words have somebody type in www.notmydomain.com and have it point to sub.****

I'll try that again when I get home. I know I tried it 4 or 5 different ways, but nothing seemed to work.
-
But it doesn't like it very much.... I am using this code (using approriate file names) trying to get my index.html page to forward to "content\contact.php" ><META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="10; URL=content\contact.php"> I've tried different timings, tried an absolute URL, but nothing's seemed to work. I cannot access the Control Panel right now to tell you which server it's located on, (usernames and passwords are miles away), but the site is countryconnectionrealestate.com Just trying to autoforward the main index to a different page, but it keeps refreshing the index page instead. Any and all help or suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you all for your answers. When I was accessing the site, It was from my work computers. At work, we have about 200 client machines pointed to a proxy server. So each one was going through the proxy. For some reason or another, my proxy software refused to refresh the new pages I uploaded. It kept feeding the old ones through the servers cache to me, no matter how I tried to refresh it. Thats why I couldn't see it. Once I got onto a different computer it was fine. Thanks guys.

My local network. Should I just write up a support ticket? EDIT: Nevermind, I already did.

even after control f5. edit: and on two different machines on the network.

it works when you type http://www.nelsonstack.com/index.html but I get the initial folder page if I go to http://www.nelsonstack.com It isn't recognizing index.html as the default file. How can I fix this?
-
on the site nelsonstack.html , we've uploaded index.html, yet it is not showing as the main "site" page if we go to www.nelsonstack.com How can we fix this? Thanks in advance.

Well how the ..... Oh jeez! Thank you! I don't know why I didn't think of that before. Now I gotta figure out why all my cow images have lines around them!!!! PS.. I'm pulling the links from the post above.
-
Please ignore the broken links, as I'm simply trying to get a template page just right before I work on the rest of it, but could somebody check out THANK YOU and TCH MIKE J and tell me why the heck my silly little cows have a thin border around them? Much thanks in advance!

1. www.daytimedads.com 2. DayTime Dads 3. A resource and community for stay at home dads and new fathers 4. Link is added on index.html page Thank you very much!!!!!

Very glad the problem was taken care of! After setting up skins on both, I think I'm happier with the invision board actually. Seems much more powerful and for some reason my invision board just looks nicer than my PHPBB one. Thumbs Up
-
OK, further research has told me that this "Zend Optimizer" doesn't play well with phpbb, and it's something that is on the server... (I'm on server 60, btw) So, since I only have myself and one other person registered on my forums right now, I'm going to try switching over to the invision board and using that one instead!

I just wanted to add one more bit of info about this. I got a call from my friend last night, and he said the problem must've been that his spam filter threw it in his spam box the first time because that's where he found the second one after HG re-sent it. Hopefully somebody else will see that if the question comes up again. Thanks so much TCH! I've only been here about a month, but I know I've made the right decision to move my hosting here (and recommend everybody I know with a site here too!) Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I'm having a big problem with my phpbb. I can only have one reply to a topic, and after that, when someone clicks reply, it gives a blank page. I've looked at the PHPBB support forums, and seen a few topics on it, and I haven't seen any have a definitive answer for this problem yet. One of the things they talk about is a "zend optimizer"? One person replied with "If you get your server to move you away from the Zend Optimizer all of these errors go away" could you guys tell me: What is a Zend Optimizer? What will be affected if I "move away from it"? is the version that installs through the one click through cPanel 2.0.6 or 2.0.6d? Thanks in advance for your help.

Just wanted to leave a message here to prospective clients of TCH. Head Guru has taken care of the situation! woooot In record time too!!!! Thank you so much!! Rock Sign

I'm posting on behalf of a friend whom I recommended to TCH. He got the original email that comes immediately after signing up, but hasn't gotten the 2nd one with all the user info yet. If somebody could PM me, I'll give you the details on his account information. I'd give the domain name he signed up under, but it seems as though he hasn't purchased the domain yet, and my fear of cybersquatters won't let me post what he signed up for in a public forum. Could that be the problem for not receiving the 2nd email? He thought he should get the hosting before the domain. I am in a class with him right now, (and will be for an hour) so any speedy replies from TCH staff are GREATLY appreciated!!!!! Thanks much! Joe Sullivan

It seems to be functioning ok If I only do the include on everything below body and not the head. May make things a little strange if I change the menubar, which is why I wanted to use the server side includes.
-
I didn't think about doing that only because menubar.txt includes my HEAD section. I put that in menubar.txt because part of my menu bar is a javascript. I'll try saving menubar.txt from the BODY down.
-
I'm putting together a new site and I'm trying to get it to use two (2) include directives, so I can have my main menubar be one .txt file and my content be another. I'm using the code below to try it, but it will only look the top one. ><!--#include virtual="/menubar.txt" --> <!--#include virtual="/mtblogs/articles.txt" --> Yes, there is a folder named mtblogs which articles.txt resides in. I loaded that one fine before I tried to put the menubar.txt as an include. But when I try to load both only the top one (menubar) appears on the page. Is this just as far as shtml goes? I can only include once? If so, is this something that PHP could do for me? (I've never tried anything with PHP yet) Thank you in advance for your help.
