Subdomain Question

I'm currently running a forum (using the Simple Machines forum script) at:

If I were to create a subdomain at

would both addresses then work to reach the forum? Or would doing this cause a problem somehow?

I know I probably should have created the subdomain before I set up the forum, but I tend to be backward like that.

first rename the folder forum to say forumx

the create the subdomain forum

then copy the contents of forumx to the new folder forum.

Ok I just tried something

I created a testfolder and put a file in it

I then renamed it testfolderx

created the subdomain testfolder

then I deleted the folder it created, testfolder

and renamed the original folder back to testfolder

and all done, much faster.

Okay, thanks. But I'm still wondering if both URLs would work after creating the subdomain, or would only the subdomain URL work?

They will both work.

A subdomain is just a redirection to the folder created by cpanel.

Do both lead to the same place.
