TCH-Thomas Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I have spent a few hours formatting and reinstalling windows 98 for a friend. All went well until the internet connection. On XP I just have to plug the machine in and it works but not here, so I ran the internet connection wizard, and set all up in control panel > network according to the isp instructions. Is there something else I need to than to run this wizard and set up the network settings? Quote
stevevan Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Can the system see/read the network card or is it a dialup connection? Are the current drivers installed? Are you able to do a tracert from the command prompt? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 It turned out to be problems with the network card. I forgot to check if it was listed at all in the device manager, which it wasn´t. Thanks stevevan. Quote
