ian-somerhalder.org Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Hi! First of all, I'd like to say that TotalChoice Hosting's service is awesome and I'm already feeling great about my new website. Thanks! I've just purchased my first domain and I'm having fun trying out some new things (like php) and it's great but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to access my MySQL database (or even how to use it/set it up). I'm creating a Coppermine Photo Gallery, and to install it, I need to fill out the following blanks in the installation form: - MySQL Host (the form says that 'localhost' is usually okay) - MySQL Database Name - MySQL Username - MySQL Password - MySQL table prefix (it says 'default value is OK; do not use dots!' and the blank is already filled with 'cpg132_') Could anyone please help me? Thanks in advance for at least reading this! Quote
TCH-Don Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 Welcome to the Family and your new home! After you goto cpanel > mysql create a database for coppermine create a user for the coppermine database then add the user to the database now - MySQL Host (the form says that 'localhost' is usually okay) yes leave that - MySQL Database Name cpanelname_databasename - MySQL Username cpanelname_coppermineUserName - MySQL Password coppermineUserPassword this should get you going. We really are like family here. So if you need anything, just ask your new family! We love to help Quote
ian-somerhalder.org Posted January 8, 2005 Author Posted January 8, 2005 Wow, thank you! I just tried and it worked. I'm so excited! Thank you! Also, thank you so much for the welcome and your kindness. I'm really amazed by the support that TotalChoice gives to its customers and I'll be sure to recommend it to anyone who's trying to find a good web host provider. Quote
