Guest Christian Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 I'm currently having alot of problems with my current host, and I'm considering a switch. I have teh following questions: 1) Very frequently, my users (and I myself) would be unable to access our website (shows that DNS cannot be resolved). Ping and traceroutes were unsuccessful from our PCs. But when we check using an online utilities facility such as Hexillion.com, we realise the site is still up. Writing in to the host, we got a reply that it may be due to the fact that the server we are on has problems with proxy servers. As we reside in Singapore, every ISP has to serve content via proxies by regulation. I'm wondering if ***** servers also has this problem? (problem with proxy servers) 2) I have a small group of users who are given upload previleges, so I would like to have an upload script for these users. I couldn't get any of the scripts to work on my current host, even though other users (of the script, on other servers) has expressed that it worked well for them. My users were able to upload via Invision Board's upload though. I would also like to use file managers through HTTP (php scripts that allows upload, altering of files, downloads, etc. to manage a web site). So that I would be able to update the site even when I'm not at home. Would both these scripts be possible on your server? 3) Does the server support the mcrypt library for PHP? Thank You. Quote
Guest Christian Posted November 24, 2002 Posted November 24, 2002 1 more thing: I already have an Invision Board forum, but I noticed you are supplying a phpBB with CPanel. I could still install Invision Board right? Quote
