'parking' Or Setting Domain To Inactive Status

I need to setup an election Web site with a domain name I just purchased. But after the election I won't need the Web site to be active until the NEXT election- but I want to keep the domain name.

Can Web sites be parked after they've been active? I don't want to lose the domain name if I can help it but I won't need the Web site back up for a couple of years...

I've registered it with you guys, and depending on whether I can park it I will have you guys host it, too.

But I kinda need more than a "most likely"...

The "most likely" was because you did not mention who you registered it through. We do not park domain names on TotalChoice, but when you are finished using the domain name, you can park it at Wild West Domains. You just update your nameservers to their default parked nameservers.
