When I point my browser to http://www.hintzefamily.com/gallery/setup/index.php (part of my site), I get the following message:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /gallery/setup/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.hintzefamily.com Port 80

Can anyone help explain why. Thanks in advance.

Bruce - When I follow that tutorial, I need a path on our server for ImageMagick. Under the configuration, it lists the path for ImageMagick as "/usr/bin/". When I run a debug for gallery it says the path "/usr/bin/" cannot be found. Is there an updated path?

Thanks.

Have you tried leaving the field blank?

I think that lets the gallery find ImageMagick

as to the permissions error

this may help,

from the instructions

If you need to rerun the Configuration setup utility:

1. Change permission for 'setup' directory to 777, and permission for .htaccess and config.php to 777

this will take the setup out of the secure mode.

Don't forget to put it back into the secure mode when you are done.

Bruce and/or Don-

Cannot leave path blank (if you do you get an error message during configuration). I think I discovered what might be the problem. Checkout this link:

ImageMagick 6.1.0+ incompatible with Gallery 1.x in some circumstances

Is the version of ImageMagick on the server 6.1.0+? Is so, is there a way for me to run a prior version?

If Not, is NetPBM on the server? That can be used with gallery istead of ImageMagick.

Thanks for your help.

Lisa - Thanks so much that works. Thanks to Bruce and Don too!

TCH must have changed the location (path) of ImageMagick since I first installed Gallery. The other path had worked fine for a while...I had not uploaded anything in a while, and when I tried to start again I ran into this problem. Now, with the new path you gave me, all seems to wirk fine!

Thanks again.
