Pinning Problems - Please Help

k guys - me again! I have given a category to a moderator to look after. He has created two topics. Both of which he wants to pin. The first one is 'Welcome' which he wants to pin above the other, and keep it there.

 

Problem is, the 'Welcome' topic is now closed, the other can still have replies. When someone replies it bumps the second pinned topic ABOVE the welcome topic. How can I make it so that the Welcome topic always appears above the second topic.

 

I have tried altering the option in 'Forum Control' - 'Manage Forums' - then selecting 'Settings'. In here is the option to 'Sort key' or 'Sort Order' Which I changed, and managed to get it round the right way. However, this option also changes the reast of that forum. I.ee it no longer pushes 'last posts' to the top.

 

Any ideas

As far as I know the sort order applies to the whole forum and not just a section of the forum.

 

You could open the welcome thread, add something to get it above the other pinned topic and close both of them to get them in the order you want.

Thanks Bruce, thats what i thought, but I still want users to be able to add to the second topic!! Nightmare eh!?
