edward19283 Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 I am using wordpress and am configuring the file/content upload for use within the wordpress system. My current permissions are set to 755 for the content directory. Wordpress says to use either 755, 765 or 777, eventhough the current setting, 755, does not appear to allow file uploads. I have tried changing to the other two options and am unable to do so through cpanel/file manager. Any advice? Thanks Quote
LisaJill Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 You should try a real ftp program, they're much easier to work with as far as file permissions go. (well, everything in my opinion, but hey. =)) Quote
edward19283 Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 I just figured out what my problem was. Thanks for the reply. Also, I use an FTP program, except that is a cumbesome way to upload images. I want to be able to do it within word press directly, instead of having to use my FTP program, and I think I just enabled that by solving my issue with changing directory permissions. Quote
LisaJill Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Oh, you certainly should be able to use wordpress - just the file manager is not good at permissions, so best to use your ftp program to fix that. Hope that clarified! Quote
