soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Do you guys do it? I'm currently the owner of nonpromqueen.com As a former Bloghosts customer, I don't think I'm going to get my domain name back. Can I register nonpromqueen.net, and if/when I get my old domain back, can I switch it back? Also, once I register, how long will it take to transfer my site to the dot net location? I'm so mad. TCH-Dick Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 You can register a domain name through us, however TotalChoice is not a domain name registrar. The only reason I point this out is a lot of people thank that TotalChoice is their registrar when in fact we arent. We are a reseller of domain names for Wild West Domains, which is owned by Godaddy. So, even though you register a domain name through the totalchoice website, the domain name is not registered WITH TotalChoice (if that makes sense) You will have a seperate and different log in name and password to access your domain name manager, and it will be acccesed on a non tch site. You can register any domain you like and we can change it for you on your TCH account. if you get the name back we can switch it or park it so that both domains point to the same site. All you need to do when purchasing the domain name, no matter where you register it, is to set the name servers to ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.comIf you already have a site uploaded to our servers, there is no moving involved we would simply change the domain name. soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Alright, so where do I go to register a new domain name? Lead me through this, I have no idea what I'm doing. That, and I'm beyond p*ssed. I can't wait to get out of this mess. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 You can register a domain name through us here Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 (edited) Start here and follow the instructions from where it says " Start Your Domain Name Search Here!" I made a search and nonpromqueen.net does not seems to be available. Edited December 3, 2004 by TCH-Thomas Quote
soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 I can only pay with paypal with a credit card? Oh man, I really am screwed now. Quote
soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Is there an email address I can send an echeque to or something? Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 PayPal or credit card are the only ways I know of, as i mentioned before TotalChoice is not the registrar, we have no control over the payment types they accept. You can register your domain name anywhere, just because you are hosted here doesnt mean you have to register the domain name here. Quote
soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 I meant paypal with an echeque (through my bank account) when I try to register with TCH they want a credit card number Quote
TCH-Dick Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I just went through the domain registration, payment options are credit card, check and paypal. Totalchoice has no control over the payment options for registering the domain name, we are not the registrar. Quote
soleil Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Then it must be that I have to have a credit card registered with Paypal to be able to pay. Damn. Too bad. I guess I'm out of luck then. Thanks guys for your help. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Soleil, see this regarding check payment. Quote
