amansker Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I set up a subdomain 2 weeks ago and created an FTP user account assigned to that subdirectory. Everything has worked fine until today. Now logging in with FTP says "incorrect pw". The URL to the files in that subdomain still works. I can login through the parent account (domain the sub-d resides in) and see the directory, files, upload/download. I changed the pw and also created a new FTP user account with different user/pw and neither worked. I don't want to delete and start over to have the same problem occur and there are lots of mb uploaded. NOTE: I'm a reseller and a client emailed on Friday to complain that HIS subdomain login was not working. I suggested he use cPanel to change the pw and have not heard back from him. At the time I didn't realize this seems to be a broader problem and not his ignorance! help! Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Sorry, I dont have the answer to this, but it sounds like you need to submit a ticket to the tech guys. Also moving for better exposure. Quote
amansker Posted November 14, 2004 Author Posted November 14, 2004 Fixed. How odd. We have all (6 of us) been using: user: * changed to: user: *@domain.com and it is now working. I don't understand why it worked WITHOUT the full email address for 2 weeks and now requires it.??? Quote
TCH-Don Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 That is odd it should not have worked with just the user only the cpanel name works that way. Quote
amansker Posted November 19, 2004 Author Posted November 19, 2004 As of last night: user@domain.com is no longer working, but user IS WORKING AGAIN!! I haven't touched the account! What's up with that? PS: I'm posting a Help Ticket. Quote
