weasel Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 I want to do something very basic--leave a file where it can be retrieved by FTP by anyone. Here is what I did: 1) Went into Cpanel and made sure Allow Anonymous FTP was checked 2) Put my file in the public_FTP folder 3) Using Cute FTP, created a site with address ftp.bigweasel.com (my site) 4) When I tried to use Cute FTP, I get a message that anonymous login is not allowed This happens whether I use anonymous and my email as password or leave them blank What am I missing? --John Quote
LisaJill Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 You're not missing anything, anonymous ftp is disabled on all servers and can't be enabled. =) Quote

TCH-Bruce Posted October 23, 2004 Posted October 23, 2004 (edited) Because it is part of cPanel but it is up to the hosting company to allow it to function. TCH has chosen to disable the function due to security reasons. Edited October 23, 2004 by TCH-Bruce Quote
