memooney Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Has anyone got an idea on how to use the email/pswd assigned in cPanel as the username/pswd to authenticate access to part of a website. I'm setting up a portal for a client and their employees, and I'd like to be able to use something like this, rather than making them remember another username/pswd? I'm sure there is a way to do this, but I haven't found the answer yet. Thanks Matt Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 If you are saying you want to use multiple email address and passwords to log onto a protected folder, I would think if they were in a file or database, a login script could scan the list and if found redirect to the folder Quote
memooney Posted October 5, 2004 Author Posted October 5, 2004 That's basically what I'm wanting to do. Rather than maintaining another database table of logins/pswds, and having the users use a different login and password, I would like to use the e-mail/pswd created in cPanel. I know it is stored in a file in my account, and the passwords are MD5 encrypted. i'm just wondering if anyone has done this, or knows of a php script I can grab, rather than writing my own.
