fink08 Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I had transferred some mail from Outlook to the servers here. I can read a particular directory (== text file in mbox format) in Neomail but not Horde or Thunderbird via IMAP. Does anyone know of a simple program that can debug the mbox formatted file to tell you what line it barfs on? I assume it's a case of an illegal character here or there. thanks Neil Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Welcome to the family Neil. The mbox file is a text file. You should be able to open it with Notepad. Quote
fink08 Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 Sorry, I wasn't clear in my original question. I know what the mbox format is: blank line followed by Wrom: P However, the formats seem to differ between Horde and Neomail - i.e. some of my files can be read in Neomail, but not in Horde (invalid format). I'd like to determine what is making them bork with Horde, because I'm moving to Horde/Thunderbird. thanks neil Quote
jandafields Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 I had some difficulty with that as well. It seems the first line of each email is slightly different for different email clients. Make a new email account, and send some messages to it. Then, download that mbox file and you will see the proper format that you need to use. Quote
