borfast Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 That's right, seems that if you want to update your IE browser, you'll have to upgrade your operating system first. Nice, isn't it? From Slashdot Microsoft has decided that future IE updates, including those related to security, will only be available to customers using Windows XP. This news.com article has the complete scoop. A choice quote: 'Microsoft may be turning the lemons of its browser's security reputation into the lemonade of a powerful upgrade selling point.' This should provide a huge boost to Mozilla and other alternative browser backers. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 How can they then on this page http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];LifeWin say they have support for Win Me (for instance) until 30-June-2006 if I.E is so close to Windows? Quote
borfast Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 Thomas, I have no idea and quite honestly, I couldn't care less. I'm used to this kind of behaviour from MS. That's why I don't trust them or their software. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 I don't trust them or their software Me neither nowadays. But hey I got to ask Quote
borfast Posted September 23, 2004 Author Posted September 23, 2004 Eheh But you've got a point. Why don't you submit that question to MS? Quote
