Cush Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 A friend wants me to do a website for she & her friend. They are starting a small business that has something to do with photography. Actually, I think it will be her friends business I told her I wasn't sure if I could do this because I didn't know if this would be considered a business or not. So she asked if I can do a website that would just be a 'Photographers Gallery' that can used to showcase her friends work for possible clients. all the 'bookings' would be done through my friend and her agent (my friend is an actress). I don't think it would be through the website itself. I think they just want to do this is adance to some meetings that they have with some companies. The only money I would get would be a samll reimbursement for setting up the website (less than $100) is this something I can do legally, or would I need a business license or somemthing? I just have no idea how this stuff works thanks Quote
TCH-Rob Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 Do you need a business lisence to build a web site and get paid for it? Not in my state, if you decide to do it full time for a living then yes but often an odd job here or there will not require it. You generaly have to report all income on your taxes though. I would check with your local agency that deals with business lisences and see what they have to say. They arent much in most states if you have to get one, $12 here in AZ. Quote
Cush Posted September 10, 2004 Author Posted September 10, 2004 Oops, I accidently hit the " REPORT THIS POST" button instead of the reply button. Sorry about that thanks for the info My firend just wants me to build a site to showcase photographs that her friend has already taken. All I'll be getting is basically a refund for doing the site, which will be less than $100.00 (I already have site with you guys, so I know the pricing plans) I live in VA and I think it should be ok Quote
TCH-Rob Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 As long as you arent selling your personal hosting space you will be in the clear with us as well. Quote
