GatorGuy Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I am new to SSL and would like some help using the free SSL. If I wanted to add the SSL to a page how would I go about doing it? Quote
GroovyFish Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I believe you would link to the page like this: ht*ps://serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com/~username/yourpage.html XX being your server # username being your cpanel username * used in https so that it doesn't show up as a link in the forum Quote
GatorGuy Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 Thanks grooveyfish! How effective is the free ssl when sending information using formmail? Quote
GroovyFish Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Can I ask what you are trying to do? Have info in a form sent to you via email? The form maybe secure, but email isn't. And, if you are asking for a credit card, you need to check out your merchant account. You maybe violating it if you have credit cards sent via email. Quote
GatorGuy Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 I am just testing it right now for another site I am working on. It will include CC#'s just to hold an appointment but not be charged in any way. What I will probably have it do is drop into a database or into a text file. As far as this site I might use it to email basic info like name and contact information. Quote
GroovyFish Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Someone more experienced that I will have have to jump in here to discuss concerns of having the cc# sent to a text file or database. Quote
