I am sure this question was asked gazillion times.. but I am bad with navigating through forums and I can not find any old posts... :D

I am thinking of purchasing 2nd domain name.. but I want to use just one TC account so I can make both 1st and 2nd domain names pointed to one account.

Is this possible?

If so.. what do I have to do?

And how can I make seperate index.html file for each domain name?

Thanks in advance. :)

As Manu states, if you are going to have one entry point, both domains load the same page it is permitted and called "parking". You open a support ticket and ask that the second domain be parked over the first.

If you wish to point to different content would require an additional account or a reseller account.

Hi to all,

please correct me if I'm wrong, but I this is how I'm thinking to overcome this situation (2 domains in 1 account)

Of course as mentioned, all the domains must have the same home page, ok ?

So what if you create a "General" home page, with 2 links redirect each domain to another path from your account ?

Is this acceptable ? (I guess so, but need verification)

Of course this will not be too professional, but is a good way to overcome this situation if you have for example 2 family domains and don't want to buy another hosting account.

Waiting for TCH tech Rock Sign to verify this, but I think will be acceptable.

Hope I helped,

I dont know if I understand correctly, but you can have several domainnames (****** yourdomain.net yourdomain.org etc) to point to same indexpage yes, but not pointing to different pages within a site if you have a regular account.

To have them parked as this is called, you will only need to submit a help ticket. Link on top of page.

Hopes this helps. :dance:

is it not true that one could have an index page written in PHP that reads the address from the browser and then immediately forwards it to that domain's "real" front page located in a different subfolder? or am I confused about how "parking" works?

ex:

www.me.com and www.you.com pointing to same account...

www.me.com ---> www.me.com/html/main.html

www.you.com ---> www.you.com/web/main.html

While what you say is true it would violate the Acceptable Use Policy for an account hosted here.

Your subdomains are allowed to be used for any legal purpose. You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders
