cam-portland Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to test multiple browsers on one computer. I know that you can have IE and Netscape both installed on a PC, but is it possible to somehow test other operating system browsers, such as Safari for MAC? I would also like to be able to install old versions of IE if possible (mostly out of curiousity). If it is possible, where can I download them from, and how do I install them. This would help me to test out websites on my computer to be sure that they are displaying consistently, or as consistently as possible. Thanks, Cameron Quote
youneverknow Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 I would be very careful if you install versions of IE below version 6. Those IE's would be very open to hackers, worms, trojans. Sorry, not sure about Safari. You can get old browsers here; http://www.oldversion.com/ youneverknow Quote
borfast Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 You have two ways to do that: 1 - Install the other oprating systems you want. For that, I'd suggest using a virtual machine like VMWare - it allows you to install multiple operating systems on top of your existing one. It's great, I use it all the time when I need to develop Flash animations, because Flash is a Windows/Mac product and I use Linux as my working OS. 2 - Go to browsercam. I have never used this personally but I think it's your best shot if for some reason you can't install the other operating systems in your computer. Quote
