can anyone recommend a good counter script? if it helps to know we have a mysql dbase. not sure if it can be done with a sinple array . . . whatever.

Try GT counter from http://www.gtchat.de/main_en.html

Its found in Download > Other

I use it myself as you can see on bottom of left frame on http://www.jikrantz.se
