snowjay Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Is it possible to install our own CGI scripts besides the ones that are listed in CPanel? Quote
snowjay Posted July 14, 2004 Author Posted July 14, 2004 How do I go about doing this..? When I click on CGI center it only has a list of pre-installed scripts..... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 You would have to upload your cgi script up to the server using an FTP program or the file manager in cPanel. Quote
anitalee Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Hello, I tried to install a CGI script and it just does not work. It worked fine on my other server but just gives me an error page on this one. I can not figure out what is wrong, can anyone help me? Thanks Anita Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Welcome to the forums Anita Well, not much to go on but I'll take a stab at it. Without an error message and what script you are trying to run it will be a guess at best. Did you upload the script in ASCII mode versus Binary? Did you change the permissions to 755 for the scipt to be executable? Without more information there's not much more I can offer. Quote
abinidi Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Anita, Welcome to the TCH forums. I'm thinking that to get help, you're probably going to have to provide some additional information. Since the members and moderators of the TCH forums don't have access to your server or account information, there is no way we can help you unless you provide us with more specific information about your script, what it does, and what errors you are receiving. For example, what script are you trying to run? What version is it? What are the hardware and software requirements of your script? Do you connect to a MySQL database? If so, you'll have to modify the script to use the proper database name and username (at TCH the database name and username are prefixed with your TCH cPanel account username). What error message to you see when you try to execute the script? Can you narrow the error down to a specific line of code? We'd love to help you, but we'll need some additional informaiton in order to do so. In the mean time, again, welcome to the TCH forums and family. I'm sure that if you are patient with us here, we'll probably be able to help you solve your problem. Best wishes!! Quote
anitalee Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I had done it in Binary and just redid in the other mode but still no good. I changed the permissions to 755 already but still no good. , lol. I have no skill for this CGI stuff and was amazed it worked the first time. Here is the script, I have modified it trying to get it to work so it may have a couple of problems now. Should I put the script up here or would that give too much of my personal info up? Thanks so much Anita Quote
