waynej Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 What's scgiwrap? I assume it's some equivalent of cgiwrap. Where can I find documentation on it? Quote
Lianna Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 I did a search of Google and found only that it is a cpanel addon script. Very vague references and no documentation about its function or implementation. I did deduce that it is the same as cgiwrap, but with the requirement of login to run the script. Sorry, I'm no help on this one. Lianna Quote
waynej Posted March 11, 2003 Author Posted March 11, 2003 Thanks for your answer! But what does "login to run the script" mean? Quote
KevinW Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Most web servers run on Unix or Linux operating systems. A lot of Unix programs are installed by running a script from the Unix command line. This is very similar to being on a Windows computer and being told to go to a DOS command prompt to run a command, like 'ping' or something. In today's world, where accessing a server can be done over the Internet, a secured login (ssh) method of entering command line instructions was created. TCH, by default, does NOT enable SSH access without a valid reason. Most scripts that indicate that you "need" ssh access, can usually be installed using regular FTP client software. HTH! kw Quote
waynej Posted March 11, 2003 Author Posted March 11, 2003 Since I installed scgiwrap via cpanel, I guess it's in place and I don't need ssh access. So now I just need to find out what cgiwrap can do for me and I'll be fine. Thanks. Quote
