Ok. Another noob question:

I uploaded a video to my public_html images folder.

I get the http location by clicking on properties, but when I try and link the video from other websites I get a message that the Internet Explorer cannot open this site.

http://66.235.184.119:2082/frontend/x/file...Pro1Qualify.wmv

Usually I would right click - save as, but it seems like it's no good. Do I need to change the permissions for that file in order to access it?

TIA,

MJB

This is similar to the image situation you had in a previous post.

Your current link should be :

h**p://66.235.184.119/~qewselwv/images/Pro1Qualify.wmv

Then it should work as you predict.

The information you're getting is from the file manager in control panel, it looks like. That's simply a way to manage, not to view; plus it's private, password protected.

The information for viewing was in your welcome email. It's the ip of the server /~username. Until you have a domain hosted here. =)

Does that help explain it?

The link you posted (and are trying to work with?) is the link to access your cpanel.

The one I posted is a normal working link (for now) until your regular domain name propogates across the system. :)

Well, I think I finally got it figured out. So all you very helpful folk can probably cut me loose until I'm ready to actually make a website.

But let me give this site a BIG thumbs-up for the IMMEDIATE help. Makes me glad I decided to get the hosting done here, and I will be sure to tell all my friends about the good service.

Thanks again...
