Okay. I have a question about my CD/CD-RW drive. I used to be able to transfer my jpeg files onto a CD to save them, through CD Writing Wizard. I guess I should mention that I am using Windows XP. Anyway, I had some jpeg files in my documents and wanted to burn them onto a CD-RW. This is what happened. I highlighted the file and then, under "File and Folder Tasks" I clicked on "Move the file". Then a box came up that read, "Move Items". I highlighted my CD drive and cliked "Move". A small balloon comes up at the bottom of the page telling me that I have files waiting to be written onto a CD. (I should mention that the box does not always come up, only 1 out of about 6 tries) Anyway, when I get this balloon I click on it and the "Files waiting to be written box" comes up, with my drive name at the top. When I click on the "Write these files to CD" command, under "CD Writing Tasks" I get this annoying "BONK" and nothing happens. However, when I eject the CD, then is when the CD Writing Wizard box appears and tells me that it cannot continue because I do not have the CD in the drive. When I put the CD back in the drive by pushing it in, the drive will burn the files then.
I should also mention that I have been able to, with this same drive, copy CD's through "Record Now" and I can play music CD's. I just cannot seem to copy files the way I used to, and so I am wondering if anyone out there can understand this mess and help to explain it to me so I can fix it. Do I need to do a format and set everything to rights again, I cannot imagine I need a new CD drive.
