  1. I was curious why I hadn't been receiving any emails all day, so I sent several test emails to myself from another account and they haven't shown up in either Apple mail, on the Yahoo address I have all my incoming emails forwarded, or on the webmail. Apple mail tells me that the connection is timing out. I sent a test email FROM my TCH email account and that worked just fine, but I am not getting any incoming email since last night. Are there currently any known issues with server 366? Thanks
  2. I couldn't find a way to delete this topic. I think I stumbled across the solution about 2 minutes after posting... that seems to happen to me quite frequently.... I was just searching around on the webmail and stumbled across a folder that was full of messages... many of which I had deleted or filed away with Apple Mail. So I take it that downloading or deleting them doesn't remove them from the server? I noticed a setting in cPanel called "aging." So I take it I can set this to automaticaly remove emails I download or delete with Apple Mail, as well as remove those spam emails that are only visible when using the webmail (Horde, Squirellmail)? I also take it that this means if, for whatever reason, I don't download my mail before the number of days I set it to passes, then I will lose those messages... meaning I should set this time somewhat high.... Sooo since I can't delete this maybe someone having a similar problem will stumble upon it in the future...
  3. Hello, Last night I got some warning emails that my mailbox was almost full. I access my emails with Apple Mail and had very few emails in the inbox. The vast majority of emails are downloaded and stored in folders on my computer. At least that is the process as I understand it. So I logged into cPanel and it confirmed that my mailbox quota of 15 mb was almost full. I logged into one of the webmail (Horde) linked from cPanel and, indeed, my inbox had thousands of emails in it. It was all very cryptic spam and nothing that I had ever seen show up in my Apple Mail. I'm guessing TCH blocks these from being sent to my Apple Mail? Anyways, I deleted all of these messages (which is an incredibly drawn out process by the way). But today I got more warnings that my mailbox was even closer to being full than it was last night. I logged into cPanel, checked the Mail Account Maintenance section and it still says my quota is almost filled. I logged into the webmail again and there were only about 100 new spam emails and I deleted them... but the maintenance page is still telling me my mailbox is almost full. Like I said, I download all my emails into Apple Mail and put them into folders... I was under the impression that this removes them from the server and stores them on my own hard drive. Furthermore, I used the webmail to delete the phantom spam that seems to hide on the server without me being notified (something I find kind of odd). So if my Apple Mail inbox is empty and webmail also says my inbox is empty, where are these mysterious 15 mb worth of emails hiding?? Is this a common problem with an easy fix (I wouldn't put it past myself to be missing something really obvious here) or is something strange going on that will require me opening a ticket with the help desk? Thanks, Ryan
  4. aha! success! the problem was that the certificate was not stored in the built-in email program's user settings, but instead in the browser's main preferences. That's why I couldn't find it and then began thinking i needed to delete them off the hard drive. The Netscape help files do nothing to clear this up... This might be helpful info for next time someone has a similar problem to mine with Netscape 7.2 or any other browser using Mozilla. Silly mistake, but I imagine one that could be easy for a newbie to make. Thanks to you all for the help! I finally have the solution to a problem that has been driving me crazy for some time.
  5. I have tried turning SSL off and when I do this it simply fails to connect to the server. My email has only worked when SSL was on. I want to try to delete the certificates but I am unsure exactly what files I am looking for. I found the folder where I believe the certificates would be located, but I don't want to delete the wrong thing. I'm on a Mac if that makes a difference in file names. That makes sense but it seems to happen to me far more often than once a year... I haven't even been using TCH that long and it has already happened about 4 times. I did notice an email that was forwarded to my Yahoo account (but never showed up in my primary inbox) which said there would be server maintenance on thursday... could this have also had the same effect? The timing seems to coordinate.
  6. No I'm using the built in email program that comes with Netscape 7.2 I experience the same problem when I use Mozilla Thunderbird as well as the default Macintosh email program. I also just received confirmation of at least one email that I never received. My client reforwarded it to me and I see my email correctly listed in the header. This is making me very nervous as I am currently in contact with several of my freelance clients as well as being involved in conversations with potential future employers. I'm worrying about what other emails I might have missed earlier this week.
  7. Hello all, I have had a very frusturating and reoccuring problem with my email account. On just about a once a month basis I will suddenly be unable to send emails. I can still receive them just fine, only sending is a problem. I get the following messages: "You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information. Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number." That is followed up by another error message that says my connection to the SMTP server was refused, etc, etc. I have probably annoyed tech support with as many times as I have contacted them about this issue. They usually say everything is fine on their end and they can't see any problems and that the issue must be on my end. They often suggest I reset all my server settings in my mail browser. Usually after fiddling around with settings and restarting my computer, the problem will seemingly rectify itself in a day or two. My question is, if this is indeed on my end, how can I stop it from happening? How can my settings work fine one day and then suddenly stop working the next? I hope someone out there has some ideas what the problem may be or how I could troubleshoot it. It is extremely annoying to lose the ability to email for days on end on such a regular basis. Thanks, Ryan
