  4. Please give me an example of what you mean by a traceroute. Thanks for your help. Have a great holiday.
  5. Using SmartFTP: uploading to spotswoodbands.org; passive mode; tried to upload mp3 file (14,740 kb); after about a minute I get the error: "connection closed. Server timeout. A non-blocking socket operation could not be completed immediately"; 64kb out of a 14,740 file uploaded. I'm uploading from my laptop (I set the DMZ host to the laptop's IP address) -> router -> cable modem -> server
  6. I posted my first web site last week but I've been having trouble uploading files. I have 3 computers (WinXP) networked together running a cable broadband connection thru a Linksys (cabled) router. I've tried cpanel, Frontpage, FTPeditor, & easyFTP on all 3 computers. I've tried directly thru the cable modem. All of my uploads time-out or abort after a few seconds. (I can upload sucessfully to other sites, such as photo-sharing sites). I've disabled or uninstalled Norton Internet Security, called my cable company to check the connection (they say it's fine), & been in touch with support here almost every day. Support says that they've downloaded to my site fine, so I must be doing something wrong. I'm running out of ideas so I'd appreciate any help.
