  1. Need to download a file from previous day's backup. All I can find is how to download entire site. Am I looking in the wrong place? Help? Nan
  2. No Help Desk ticket -- I forwarded the 'weirdos' to Support@TotalChoiceHosting.com in an email. That's why, when I didn't hear anything back, I began to wonder if this was the best course of action. At the time, I thought it was so Tech people could actually see the email headers, etc. But perhaps (horrors! ) , I was wrong. What should I do now? Nan P.S. Love all the smilies!!
  3. I've read all about the best ways to solicit help, but recently I've had some weird emails come to me that I felt Support needed to see so they could look at headers, etc.. I forwarded one of the emails with an explanatory note on 6/22 -- no response as yet. The latest just went out today. Is there another/better way to address issues like this? Nan
  4. Thanks! After I posted, I found a way around the problem ... but do appreciate greatly the help from the forum. Nan
  5. AHA! Just checked Webmail and found everything went to my default address. I THINK I've fixed the problem. I'll know after the next mailing goes out. Have another question along the same lines. When I checked my default web mail, there were SCADS of spam messages. Does this mean I'll need to check this box periodically and clean it out? I never use this particular address for anything. Thanks for your input. Nan
  6. Thank you for all your attention! I wasn't complaining ... just curious about the delay since everything I'd read on the forum was complimentary relating to response time. You're correct that the problem wasn't 'directly' related to TCH, but I didn't know where else to turn. Thank you for going the extra mile to check things out. You guys are 'kewl.' Nan
  7. I send out a newsletter twice each month (generally) through a self-owned mailing program using sendmail. When I was with my former host, right after the mailing, I would get a slew of "undeliverables" -- usually mailbox full type of thing, but also bad email addresses. This helped me to keep my mailing list cleaned out. I didn't get any of these this time -- my first mailing with TCH. Does anyone know where they are going? Thanks, Nan
  8. I sent a Help ticket on 5/18 related to an email situation that needed to be addressed outside of the Forum. To date, no reply. Is this usual??? Nan
  9. Not yet -- was just now writing a note to the Help Desk. I'll hold off a little longer if you think you can help ...
  10. PHEW! Sure glad we finally got that cleared up. Thanks so much for your input. Kinda' looks like I'll be turning to the Help Desk. Thank you also for the welcome. I did a LOT of research before I chose TCH because the site I'm moving is my main site, i.e. the one that brings in the money. A factor that played a big part in my decision was the Forum. I like being able to go somewhere to ask a quick question (and get an answer) without having to wait for Support to respond. No matter how fast they are, when something not working, it's never fast enough. Right? Thanks again, Nan
  11. OK, one more time. I went to my Cpanel, clicked on Bulletin Board, filled in the blank of where I wanted the files, and clicked "Install." That part is done. OK? And yes, I understand that the program "will (by default) end up at www.yoursitenamehere.com/forum." Therein lies the problem. Since I have not propagated my site to TCH (it's still on what will soon be my 'old' server), I CANNOT type in www.mysitename.com/forum and retrieve the phpBB admin page. Since I have not yet switched DNS, the only way I can access my site through TCH is by typing in http://IP#/~username. I tried typing http://IP#/~username/forum ... but I got an "Action Canceled" page. Maybe I should send a help ticket ... but I hoped someone here could help. Nan
  12. Thanks, but ... Guess I didn't make myself clear enough. I did as suggested -- went to Cpanel and got the phpBB files. Now, according to the phpBB manual, ... "Once all the files have been uploaded to your site you should point your browser to this location, eg. http://www.mysite.tld/phpBB2 or http://subdomain.mysite.tld/, etc. Of course replace these with the real location! Everything from this point is fully automated." Since I haven't changed the DNS, I can only access my site through the IP # with my user name (http://IP#/~username). So how do I get to the phpBB2 location as suggested above? Hope I'm clear this time.
  13. I just signed up and have uploaded all my existing files. However, before transferring the DNS to TCH from my current host, I'd like to have the forum all set up and ready to go. I've downloaded the phpBB files from my Cpanel, but I'm not sure what to do next? Especially since it's pre-propogation. Help? Thanks, Nan
