  1. Hi all, thx for the suggestions but i seem to have fixed this I went into Administrative Tools in the Control Panel and selected services, i then disabled anything with svchost.exe as the target file that i might not need, eg WIA (windows Image Aquisition) as i have no camera, scanner or printer attached. This seems to have sorted it out. I'm not sure which one solved it as i disabled about 4 or 5 thanx all
  2. Hi there, thx for the reply, I have already ran virus and spyware software in safemode, with nothing found, I am also upto date with all windows patches, so sadly the advice you have given has not helped, but thank you for trying I read on the net somewhere this problem may be as a result of HP scanners/printers or image devices, however I do not hve any external devices such as printers, etc attached, so it cannot be this. A techie from my broadband service said it was a problem with IE, and said I should uninstall and reinstall as it appears to be corrupted, again this has not worked, please help sum1 regards Skroob
  3. Hi all, i have read so much on the net about this problem and STILL cant find a solution, im hoping sum1 here can help I am getting an error message come up randomly when I am connected to the internet. It states that Generic host process for win32 services has encountered an unexpexted error and will shut down. this results in the internet connection stopping, although the network icon (2 screens) still appears in the system tray, and it still says I am connected and I am unable to disconnect, nor reconnect back online. it says this problem is related to svchost, but as i have about 3-4 of these in my process list, i dont know which it refers to.. or how to solve it. I have tried downloading the hotfix from microsoft (KB894391), but this has had no effect. Tried several virus/spyware scanners - with nothing found the error can happen 30 secs after connecting to the net, or can be an hour or so... Anyone any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated if anyone can shed some light on this, Many thanx in advance
