Welcome to the forum, moorishrite. I don´t understand what you mean with the "recover" part of your question. Did someone else register your domain? As for the "transfer" part, is it the hosting you want to transfer or the domain? If the latter, please see if this page helps.

I am in the process of upgrading to Windows 7 and have until now used Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) as my firewall. To use KIS with Windows 7 it needs to be upgraded to version 2010 which is too bloated in my opinion. So my question to our forum members is, what firewall do you use? Thanks.

With a full backup, do you mean a backup of the database or a backup of the html/php files? If it´s a database backup, you can upload it to your ftp and tell the helpdesk where you put it and they can restore it for you. If it´s the html/php files you have a full backup of, I am afraid you are out of luck.
