  1. I am about to reach my capacity for my plan and was looking to see what was taking up the most space on my site. I noticed there is a tmp directory with several subdirectories and a number of files within each of them. A couple of subdirectories are taking up a lot of space. I was wondering if it is safe to delete these files?
  2. First of all, let me say this is not a web site currently hosted by TCH. Someone I know maintains a web site and says he's getting a number of complaints saying his web site has some sort of malware embedded in the site. I went there and nothing came up for me. How does a person detect and then get rid of any malware that's embedded in a web site?
  3. A buddy of mine had a domain he let expire. One of these resellers snatched it up and has since expired. But it is not available for purchase yet. Is there a way to get flagged as soon as it's available without paying the extra cost of backordering it? I really don't want to check on it every day for the next month or two.
  4. It is SMF. I disabled one mod. It helped some (got the memory down to 73%), but it shot back up later in the day.
  5. My account was suspened on Monday for high memory usage. It appears my forum was, and still is, causing a huge memory drain on the TCH server my site is on. I am still trying to resolve the high memory usage, but have not found a source as of yet. The forum is running at 85-97% memory usage, which is ridiculously high. I need to get this corrected before my site is suspended again, or even removed. But I can't find the problem. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
  6. I was having the same problem. It appears the bots have found a way to get through SMF's CAPTCHA. I installed the reCAPTCHA mod and bots have ceased to sign up. The reCAPTCHA mod is the one where there are two words that have to be typed in during registration, usually with a line through both words. I have seen this used on some online ticket purchasing sites. So far, so good on my forum.
  7. I had never heard of that either, but I thought it was something I had never heard of before. I'll shoot him something and let him deal with it on his end. Thanks.
  8. I'm not sure which section to post this, so please move it if this is not the right section. The company I work for has a client that called me this morning saying an email from our office is being flagged on his end as spam. We have our own domain that's used for email addresses. He asked me to ping his email address so he could flag it and keep whatever comes from us from being labeled as spam. I have never done this before and don't know how to do this. I looked online and could not find anything on it. If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
  9. I've had this happen on a machine once before, but I don't remember how I fixed it. On my home computer last night, I noticed there was a light blue line that stretched from one side to the other just above the page itself, right under the tabs and menu area. It's been on there before. We are using IE7. Any idea?
  10. I hope I am posting this in the right section. A client of mine let his domain expire. He was considering a new one anyway. He wants to go ahead and get a new one and mentioned getting his old one back when it's available. If a person gets a second domain for their web site and wants it directed to the first one, does that person have to have a second site space or is there a way to do it without its own space? I have never had to set one of these up like this before, so it's new to me.
  11. Myself and the business owner have made numerous attempts to contact him about transferring the domain to us and we have not heard from him. He's a young and immature kid. I have picked up 3 other of his web sites that he basically stopped maintaining.
  12. I have someone that wants me to take over his web site. His current webmaster is nowhere to be found (typical of this guy). His domain expires on Sunday and it's important to him to keep his domain. The domain is in the name of the webmaster. If I backorder it and the webmaster decides to be a jerk and renew it, will my order be cancelled instead of having that pending charge floating for a future backorder? If I can get the domain, I am going to set up his site through TC.
