Hi, apologies if this is a daft question but I have very little technical knowledge so bear with me !!
What has happened is this, I was trying to download a large file from my website using FTP and was getting timedout, someone suggested increasing the timeout settings which I did but this had no effect, still got timeout. I then changed the passive/port setting to passive. Still got timeout.
I then gave up and went to access a site via Internet Explorer, however I kept getting "site not available", (this hadnt been apparent before the Cute session)I went back to Cute and changed the settings back thinking this might be what caused it.
The above did not solve the problem.
I then uninstalled Cute but this didnt have any effect either.
I then did a system restore back to a date prior to installing Cute but again I still couldnt view internet pages.
I have definitely got a connection as another computer running off a router is still working perfectly, its just mine thats not showing pages.
I'm at my wits end as to how I get this to work again so any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
