Hey all!!! (I apologize in advance for the lengthy post )
I've had a Dell Inspiron 2200 for 3 months now (it's been working great!).
I recently did some diagnostic testing and an error was found (code: 1000-0146, apparently means that an error log was found). I did the diag testing initially because, as I was installing a web-cam, I got a blue error screen stating that a fatal error has occurred and the system must be shut down to prevent system damage(at the bottom it said something about a memory dump!?!). I rebooted and kept getting the same blue error screen, so i rebooted once more in safe mode and removed the web-cam's drivers. It then booted up properly, but a window popped up stating that the system recovered from a fatal error. I called up Dell tech. and was told that they would have to send me a new HD. My system seems to be working fine now, but the tech told me that there may be future problems if I don't replace the HD. The new HD will be here in 2 days.
I really don't know if the web-cam had anything to do with this issue. I am also a bit reluctant to change out the HD due to the fact that it seems to be working fine, I have a lot of stuff on it already, and I've also read in other forums and such that Dell may send me a refurbished HD!
I would really appreciate anyone's input or suggestions on what I should do!!!
Thanks a bunch,
Aaron
