Hi Andy, Thanks for your reply. The application is an autoresponder (email and RSS feed). The installer would be either the seller or a third party. Can you tell me how to set up the ftp account and limit access to a single folder? This is all new to me, so a step-by-step guide would be a great help. Thanks David and Rob, My original questions were a bit confusing because I hardly understood what I was asking. The software has an installation wizard that asks for the information I mentioned above. It uses it's own built-in ftp so I don't think I can test it except by doing the installation. I'll try it and see how it works out. Michael M

Hi, I want to install an application to the server. It's all new to me so I want to be sure I understand what I'm doing. Can you please look this over and advise? Everything in blue is (more or less) verbatim from their installation instructions. Here's what they say: __________________________________________________________________ 1. What is the information of my FTP server? Do I need to change my default FTP port number? FTP Server: yourdomainname.com 2. What is the name of my top-level home directory or home folder? Example: /public_html Example: /www 3. What is the log directory? Log directory is created automatically. __________________________________________________________________ 1. For "FTPServer" I assume I enter: "mydomainname.com" (?). Do I need to do anything about the port number? 2. I assume I enter /www.****/public_html (?) 3. Do I just ignore this since they say log directory is created automatically? Please correct me if I've misunderstood anything. Thanks for your help. Best Regards, Michael M.

I'm sure you're right - I couldn't see how it could be done after looking at the TCH autoresponders. I'm going to check the other options you mentioned. Hi, Before joining the TCH family I asked the Pre-sales forum - "are there unlimited sequential autoresponders?". The answer was yes. By "sequential" I mean a series of emails scheduled to be automatically sent to the same address over time. For instance, a different email sent every 7 days for six weeks - such as an e-course. As I check the autoresponders in cpanel I can't see how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to go about it? Thanks for your help. Best Regards, Michael M.

Hi, I'm just learning the back-end of web publishing and lots of things are a mystery to me, so I'd appreciate your guidance. I'm about to upload my first web page. I use frontpage and was considering publishing from there. Then I saw this warning in cpanel: 1. Do I need to be concerned about that? 2. If I once publish via Frontpage, does that mean I can't upload via an FTP account? 3. Are there any situations where you wouldn't want to (or couldn't) publish from FrontPage? 4.
