  1. Thanks everybody for the great information! David, I will look into Smart-FTP! That would be such a help and I would prefer FTP over the File Manager! I didn't know about the upload/download difference, good to know it:) Thanks!
  2. Hi! I'm not really sure where I should put this problem of mine, but I'll try here I have a digital design business, meaning that I create high resolution crafting papers, elements etc. and sell those as downloadable kits. Because the graphics are high resolution, the zipped files tend to run large. And here's my problem...how to get files ranging from 50 MBs to 150 MBs to my server. I have tried FTP, but the connection always times out/hangs at some point, usually around 30-50 MBs into the upload. I have tried to check my FTP proggy (Filezilla) and tick all possible choices that might have to do with this, but it always happens anyway (also with other FTP programs). I wonder if this is a FTP or server issue? So far I've been uploading the files with the Cpanel File Manager, but that is sooooo slow! It's frustrating to spend half a day (sometimes all day) just uploading one kit. I have broadband, btw. Whenever I download something this big from the net, it always downloads MUCH quicker, so it seems to be only the uploading part. Can anybody shed some light or advice on how to best and fastest get these files on my server? And is it at all possible to FTP such large files? Thanks! -Anna
  3. Ok, holy guacamole! I did it! Heehee, I have a database! I forgot to click on the "Add user to database" -button! Yoohoo! EDIT: thanks head guru for replying, I hadn't seen that tutorial, it made a lot of sense!
  4. Hi, Needing hellllppp! I'm trying to install Zen-Cart, and pulling my (blonde) hair here It's going fine until we come to the part of inputting a MySQL database user name, password and (database) name. I just don't manage to do it, I have no clue where I get the database password and user name. The instructions said that you might get these from your host, but I didn't find anything in my welcome emails from TCH. I did guess that the database host would be "localhost" as the installer suggested. I tried to create a database myself in Cpanel, but I'm so confused...there is first a "create database" -field where you only need to put a name and click "Add db", no user name or password needed? Then there is a "Users" -field below it, and I tried to put a random user name and password there, but it doesn't work this way either:( Can anybody help? I'm very NOT script-savvy, so please speak slowly
  5. Hi Thomas, thanks so much for your help! I just realised that the ISP actually is the same for me both at home and at work. They aren't under the same contract of course, at work it is a company network and at home a private broadband, but it is the same ISP all the same. Maybe there is something wrong with their configurations. I must send a query. Although I wonder why support doesn't try to help like you did, they only keep saying that "there is nothing wrong with your webmail" and offer no further help, even though I am desperate.
  6. I'm really at my wits' end here with a webmail problem. Can anybody help? My problem happens when trying to send email from my Squirrelmail webmail. I get this error code every single time (changed the specs for privacy): Syntax error in parameters or arguments Server replied: 501 <me+mybusiness.com@$host>: domain missing or malformed This happens both at home and at work, with two different computers and ISPs. I have been in contact with support, they claim that they can send email just fine. I see that they have, because I can see it in the Sent folder. Anybody? I would so appreciate it, I am on the verge of tears because I really need webmail (this is my small business)! Thanks! Anna
  7. YES, YES! It worked! Thanks so much! I have a small business, so now I can check possible orders at work, too Thanks for all the welcomes!
  8. Thanks for the replies and welcomes Thomas (btw, I am in Finland, so hi neighbour!), Robert and Bruce! I did check that thread and in it someone said that Squirrelmail indeed uses port 80, but now my problem is, how to reach my webmail using Squirrelmail from work (yes, I am blonde! ). I mean, what is the addy I should write in my browser? I tried www.****:80, but just got my main page. Can you help me still? Thanks!
  9. Hi there! Quite new TCH client here, and very happy at it! I have one issue I need help with, though, so I am here asking Webmail...and how to access it from work (company firewalls and all that). At home I can access webmail with www.****:2095 but at work I get a "page can't be displayed" I used TCH once with a previous domain I have since discarded, and remember seeing someone explain, that Squirrelmail would be an option to be reached even when I am at work behind those big, nasty company firewalls. But how to go about it? I can't reach cpanel from work either Can anyone help me so that I could check my mails at work, too? Thanks & Blessings, Anna
