Would love to see this happen as quick as possible. The MediaWiki developers just announced no new security updates for MW 1.6.*, their last version that runs on PHP 4.4 (the current MW version is 1.9.3). Thanks!

Hi there, I'd like to add another vote for PHP 5. An increasing number of third-party apps have already or soon will drop support for PHP 4.4. I realize the position in December/January was "no plans to go to PHP 5." Is that still the position? At this point, we're talking about a software version that's been out there for three years come July.
