  1. When I use to use the free counter offered by gostats.com, I was given an option of blocking my own ip from the counter. This was great since I'm constantly in my pages making changes and testing them; that option kept the counter current and not changing/counting because of me. I now use the counter script in my cgi center. Is there a way to keep it from counting my IP so that the count displayed accurately reflects the number of visitors? d

    Forms

I have created a survey form for my site (www.wtn-cops.org). I've set up forms before at work using formail. Rather than reinvent the will, I modified my existing form template that I use at work. The Problem: It doesn't work because my site is not registered for formmail (or something like that). How do I configure the <form> tag to return the rults of my survey to me? thanks, debbey
  3. I read where, as a total choice subscriber, TotalChoice has guest book and counter scripts that can be used on our pages. Where do I find the information on how to include them on the site I am building? debbey (www.wtn-cops.org)
  4. Okay...so my site then goes into the public folder and that will enable everyone to see my web pages when they go to my site? right? I did manage to finish deleting the pages I had previously put up there, so that's good.... what is the purpose of the www folder if I am to locate my web pages in the public folder?
  5. Although not new the writing web pages, I am new to purchasing and accessing a host service. All my other work is done through my university and they have their own servers. When I logged into my ftp client the first thing I saw was a lot of unfamiliar folders, ie., email, www, private, public, etc. and a few files. My goal was to go in and begin setting up my folders that will house the web page I am developing. What I uploaded were 3 folders, one an image folder with only 4 or 5 small images, and inc folder with a one or two docs, an index.php, header.inc and one other. It seemed to take a longer time than I would have expected to get them copied over, but then I decided to delete them and that seemed to taken even longer until finally I received an error telling me "blocking call cancelled" and "retrieve of folder listing failed." What happened? What did I do? When I call up the domain in my browser I still get the parent directory/folder listing, so I'm not sure what has/is taking place up there. I deleted what I uploaded because I wasn't sure which folder, if any I was suppose to put everything in. Can someone please give me some direction and thought on what's going on? This should have been, I'm sure, a very SIMPLE task, yet on my first attempt, I've failed miserably
