I already found my answer. My friend got the wrong type of account. He got the account with the templates, where you add your text and photos, ect... So, he has to change that and then I think I'll be in business.

Thanks in advance for anyone who could provide me with some helpful info. I'm using FTP for the first time. I've only done websites on free servers like Geocities before and used the file manager to upload everything. My friend got a domain from GoDaddy and now I have to use an FTP client. They give this link to a tutorial of different clients. http://ftphelp.secureserver.net/index.html I tried IE first but could not connect. I downloaded the trial version of CuteFTP and when I try to connect, I get the following: STATUS:> Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message... ERROR:> Control connection closed. I need help!
