I just looked at my Paypal account, and my recurring subscription to Totalchoicehosting was cancelled. It says "cancelled by buyer". Is there a reason for this? I did not cancel my sub, and wish for it to continue. What should I do? I do not want my website to go down or anything... Thanks, 143

Friend of mine is looking for a new hosting company. He is looking for a service that will allow him at least 2 domains on the same hosting and allow emails from both domains. Is this possible from TCH?

Ok - I have been hearing tons and tons about blogging lately. Truthfully, I am interested in setting up a piece of my site for blogging (probably on a sub-domain somewhere). I have been reading about them and just can't seem to figure out HOW or WHAT i need to do to start. Most places point me to blogspot, but after reading all that has happened there (which I am not sure of actually), it seems as though I should stay away from that. I don't want a free service with ads, I want to host it myself here at TCH. So I guess my questions are as follows: 1) How do I set up a blog? (I can handle installing things - I just don't know what to install). 2) What is movable type? Is it important to me? I understand that this stuff has probably been covered TONS of times elsewhere, so I guess if anyone knows of a good link that offers some type of tutorial, that would be great as well. Thanks so much in advance TCH family.

After re-reading the policies, I am guessing this would be in violation of the following?

Ok, thanks Lisa! =D EDIT: But what if it is an extension of my company? For example, The main section of my site is for my button making business. I wanted to set up shirts.meshedcreations.com for screen printing, which will be updated primarily by my partner. We can't redirect from his existing URL to the new subdomain? Thanks in advance, I didn't know this would be under question! =D

Hey everyone - I have a general question. I want to set up a subdomain for someone to use. I know how to do that, but they want a URL to redirect to that subdomain. They will register the domain name at ****, and I am wondering if they can set something up to forward to the subdomain I give them.
-
Hey everyone. I have registered 2 domains/hosting plans through you guys (one for my small business, and one for a friend's band). All I have to say is wow! Not only are your prices amazing, but your support is A+ as well. It is definately what sets you apart from all of the other hosting companies I have worked with. Keep up the good work, you are far above the rest. So far I have referred 2 other people to you, and plan on one more in the near future. Who knows how many more after that. =D

Yea I was looking at those actually . I Tried entering some of the example code in my HTML editor that they had listed and realized that I may need some type of PHP editor to do it?
-
Actually after looking at that, it looks like they reload their flash animation every time. =/
-
Yea - I was reading about php but it got really confusing, really fast. I dunno, I might look futher into it since the frames thing seems to be frowned upon in web-development. After looking further into it, I wouldn't want 3 sections, just two. The top being the static Flash. This site is almost exactly what I am looking to do: EXAMPLE
-
Yea the search engine thing was what I was worried about, but I think I found a possible solution: Frames & Search Engines Hopefully that will eliminate some % of the problem

Is there a way to make cells static? When a link is clicked, I don't want the whole page to load, is would just be the center cell.
-
Thanks for your quick help, I'll check those links out.

I am looking into adding some Flash to my page. The way I want to have my page is to have it broken into 3 horizontal sections. The top and bottom section will be 100% Flash. The center section will be HTML. Basically, the top and bottom sections will remain the same no matter what section of the site you visit, only the center HTML section will change (based on links that can be clicked on from the Flash section on the top), and it would only vary between 10 or so different things. My question is, what is the best way to do this? I know basic HTML and Flash, and just can't quite seem to grasp how to do this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ok, GOT IT! Thanks everyone for all of the help. The problem was that I was setting the silly variables in the wrong location in the Config file. After looking at yours, I saw the correct place to set them. You have a lifetime customer here!
-
I see what you mean. I'll check that out and let you know.
-
I did change these as per my quote above: Did I mis-read your post?
-
Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the problem. I re-transferred it as ASCII and made sure the permissions were set to 755 and tried to run it again. Thanks for all of the help attempts, I really appreciate it. I just have no idea what is wrong here. =/
-
Ok. I deleted everything - redownloaded - changed variables to: CHMOD mail.cgi to 755 Still getting the same error. Sending PM now.
-
Ok I'll try that now. And when I download the zip file and extract it, the Config.pm file is capitalized.
-
Ok. Here is what happened, step by step: Done. All lower case. Permissions were not set to 777. I changed it to 777. Done. It's there, all lower case, and permission was and is 755. Done. DADA is there, all uppercase, permissions 755. mail.cgi is there, permissions 755. Done. It was named with a capital C, I changed it to lowercase and it did not make a difference, same error. I currently changed it back to a capital C. Here is what the config.pm file looks like:
