  1. How can one simply view the crontab ... all those years behind a VT100 and now all I have is a mouse.
  2. Ah ... "Reprovision" - the magic word ;-) Just deleting all the files in a subdomain or in public_html is not good enough if global things like SQL databases and email addresses are utilized (which is quite normal). I fully acknowledge the reluctance to "reprovision" (wipe everything out) ... but sometimes us stupid users really, really, yes, absolutely really want everything wiped out. I also greatly respect the staff reluctance to completely wipe out all my data - just wish I didn't have to resort to a full day of begging for my data to be wiped out. Thanks for wiping out all my files - bet you haven't heard that one in awhile ;-)
  3. Help Desk Tickets ... Rick stepped in and made it happen - all hail Rick! I like to debug issues myself, but it's best to start from a known state and the best state is a clean slate. It might save TCH some time if there was a way for users to reset their accounts without requiring TCH intervention.
  4. I've been trying to get this done and have been through 7 email exchanges with tech support - they just don't seem to get what "reset", "start over", "delete everything" or "start from scratch" means. Is there a magic code word I need to use to get this done? First they delete everything in my www directory, then they delete a little bit more, and more ... we've been at this all day. I want to completely start over - it would be ideal if a user could do this ourself, but I'm sure there is a valid reason ... but it shouldn't take 7+ support calls either.
  5. PS - I tried to use cpanel and "REDIRECT" Add Redirect: http://myTCHsite.com/forum1.com http://myTCHsite.com Temporary [Add] and that didn't work. I'd rather find a .htaccess or index.php text work-around as I really distrust cpanel-like GUIs that go off and change a bunch of files.
  6. Greetings - I'd like to be able to have a subdir be my main WEBROOT and was wondering what the best method would be too achieve this? Example, if I was trying two different forums that I could get to via http://myTCHsite.com/forum1 and http://myTCHsite.com/forum2 - and then I decide to use forum1 as the main focus of the website - how do I get http://myTCHsite.com/forum1 to be the default? Regards
  7. Greetings - I'm setting up some forums and would like to give a limited set of people a test drive - so I tried to turn on the password protection by directory via cpanel. cpanel -> "Password Protect Directories" selected the "forum" subdir /home/my_acct/public_html/forum [*] Directory requires a password to access via the web (you must check this to activate password protection). Protected Resource Name (will display in browser's password mask): my_domain Added a user: joe_tester joes_password Originally, when I went to http:/mydomain/forum - I got the forum. Now, after password protecting when I go to http:/mydomain/forum - I get "page not found". I thought this cpanel feature should issue a prompt for "joe_tester" to enter his password and access the forums?
  8. Let's start over with another example as well defined as (I think) is possible: A family has a ourfamily.org domain and a TCH SHARED ACCOUNT PLATINUM PLAN (55GB BW & 2000MB diskspace for $26.95/mo). 1.) The family implements dad.ourfamily.org and mom.ourfamily.org subdomains and TCH gets paid $26.95/mo. - this is OK per TCH subdomain policy for this type of account. 2.) Two months later, the famly adds son.ourfamily.org and daughter.ourfamily.org and officially "charges" son & daughter 1/4 of the bill each - this is technically against TCH subdomain policy for this type of account. 3.) Four months later, "son.ourfamily.org" exceeds the PLATINUM PLAN by 100MB of disk space and 1GB of bandwidth for one month and the family officially "charges" the son $1.75 + $2.50 for that months excessive usage - this is technically against TCH subdomain policy for this type of account. Am I technically correct on TCH subdomain policies for all three cases above?
  9. Thanks for the clarification: You can see in my example how it is one logical site with a simple pay-go usage agreement - the group isn't 'reselling' anything - they are just dividing up a common bill like a group might do who goes out to lunch. The distinction seems to make cents for TCH - but no sense to me. ;-) I guess we do the same thing with an individual account and folders instead of a reseller account and subdomains.
  10. If a TLD, ie, 'ourleague.org' is on your site via a reseller account - I see that 'team1.ourleague.org' & 'team2.ourleague.org' could be valid subdomains. However, what if some fees were charged to each team in "ourleague.org" ? ie, an initial set-up free or any fees for excessive disk/bw usage. Would this violate the subdomain policy about charging for subdomains - even though the subdomains are highly relevant in content to the TLD and highly relevant with respect to bandwidth/usage fees charged to the TLD? Assuming this is valid - could you see any obvious 'gotchas' where "Team_N" might violate the subdomain policy so the "ourleague.org" administrator can ban those in advance?
  11. I'm looking over your 4 diff plans and don't see any (obvious) differences execpt pricing, disk space & bandwidth - am I missing something?
  12. Thanks - that was quick! I just used a "mdelete *.*" command from ftp and it worked - typing "y" after each file wasn't so bad. I'm GUI challenged - deleting a file at a time from the cPanel filemgr GUI is like mowing a yard with a scissors cutting one blade at time. Regards - Mike
  13. Greetings - I'm a command line junkie and the cpanel/filemanagement GUI has me stumped. How does on delete many files at once, ie, "rm id*" ? Thanks - Mike
