Hi. I've had a TCH account for a couple of months, but I haven't gotten enough inspirations to put anything interesting on it. Anyway, I'm going on a trip for a few months so I figured I'd put a blog on my site so my family can see how I'm doing. I decided on Movable Type, but I'm stuck on one of the directions.
I'm reading the instructions from this page:
http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id76.htm
The last bullet of step 3 states:
If you're putting mt into the cgi-bin, you'll need to create a directory called mt-static in the root of public_html folder. remove the # from the beginning of the StaticWebPath line and put, StaticWebPath /mt-static/
But in the first few steps it says to extract all the files in the public_html folder and rename the extracted folder to 'mt'. Is it more secure to move everything to the cgi-bin folder? If so, which files am I supposed to move? I'm not afraid of anyone hacking my site since I don't have anything important, but on the other hand, I don't wanna be a sitting duck waiting to be hacked either I am afraid to move beyond this step because I'm sure I will run into errors later on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sandro
