I have reworked the site considerably since your last comments and gotten rid of the coding errors. Now it even validates on W3C. Also, it has a different domain name. Feedback -- The matter of ther question marks appearing in place of some of the punctuation marks was corrected when the font being used in Notepad where I worte the code was changed from Lucida Typewriter to Courier. Lucida must have been that off-the-wall font that TCH-Mike mentioned. Also, as suggested by TCH-Jim, the site now has a new domain name

Many thanks for the help from all of you. But as usual, simple things are not always as simple as they may appear. I fixed the dead link - had to do with the need for Index to be index (with lc i). Can I have some help with the business about the question marks? How do I invoke ASCII 45? Can I also have some help with the googlebot detection code? I have added the line to the .htaccess file shown in the TCH forum, but that causes the index page to not open at all: AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html Maybe the simplest thing to do is to remove the googlebot code, or just forgedaboudit for the time being?? You can probably see these mistakes are those of a beginner. This is my first attempt at a web site. I would appreciate any help.
