Ya i fillled out a help ticket... fot the record.... this was the response i got. also.... is there a way to retain the subdomain in the address bar rather than resolve too the actual url? and I didnt know that sub-directories of the root /www are automatically dorected to by the subdomain w/ the dir name... but appearantally this is true...

yesterday i setup 2 subdoimains: http://teahouse.redtv.org and http://amnesty.redtv.org teahouse should point to http://redtv.org/teahouse/ and amnesty to http://msu.edu/~amnesty/ but today after allowing what i believe is enought time for dns to propagate..... they still error page cannot be displayed. am i confused? ALSO: is there a way to setup subdomains in a url frame so that the address bar retains subdomain url rather than redirects and updates to the actual url? thanks so much!

Hmmm..... I have a seperate registrar which i previously used to route email forwards. This contains host info for a MX record. Shold this be updated to point @ domain.com now? It has had the current entry previously and mail workd but could this be the problem?

I have been using my ISP email. When i use another ("internal")webmail account to send to the disfunctional one, it seems to work, but when I send mail from any other domain it bounces. I have tried sending from: I have tried all three from multiple computers on different connections. So it seems to me as though this mail is filtering 'foreign' domains or something? does this make sense? ... thank god for forums. thanks so much for the help.

by "change smtp" I assume u mean reconfigure my mail client to use a different port when connecting to my outgoing server. I fail to understnd the relationship, so i must be misintrupreting. ALSO: I noticed my unrouted mail is no longer being delivered to the "default address" (when i change my outgoing port (smtp) my connction timesout because my isp handels smtp on 25)

I appologize if this is a topic. too many mail post with ambigious titles and descriptions. When I send mail to a user that im sure ive created it bounces with this delivry report I know that the ccount exists.... and not ALL of the accounts bounce... just this one.... and there are no strange characters or anything like that. boy-o-boy....how annoying. . i'm trying to mod my forums. trying to install the mod: Categories Heirarchy... and i tried to use easy mod to do it. and its all tweakd out.... any one have any experiance w/ either of these? i think the prob is easyMod (still pre-beta script)... Ill probably try to install the mod manually.

nope... no login as... also... do i have to point the sub domain FTP to redtv.org for it to work? there isnt a subdomain already set up... so shouldnt i be ftp-ing to simply domain.org ?? also... even when i am prompted for authentication... the created users do not work thru the web interface. also... i tried on a windows box, and did file > login as... still the created user accounts do not work. thanks

I started to the other day... and got a couple errors when trying to create the tables... thats when i looked for a nice thread, and found the above mentioned note of it. I suppose ill keep tryin that approach. Im sure i can figure it out. thanks.

so my users can access their blog directories, i have made a pw protected directory "http://.../login" and added the users to it. the index file within contains multiple urls for users to interact w/ the system. one of them being a link to their 'home' directory (where they can store images, etc...) I intended to have the link ftp*//redtv.org and when prompted users input their login info and the browser either mounts the volume (macOS) or internet explorer acts as an ftp client(windows)... but when i click the link from my MAC system it mounts what i believe to be anonymous directory...(incoming folder) but doesnt log anything in cpanel under session control. I have cpanel anonymous setup w/ allow unchecked. to try to avoid this i changed the link to ftp*//redtv.org@redtv.org so as to fail on anonymous login and promtpt the user while reminding them to use the @domain name @ the end of their login.... this does such and prompts me, but when i try to use an ftp account i have created, it fails,,, is it not possible to use a browser window to access the ftp protocol? thanks!

THE PROBLEM IS: that the icon does not display @ http://redtv.org but it does @ http://www.redtv.org does the browser not look for a favicon w/o the www subdomain? even when its sited in the head tag? am i just confused and this isnt whats happening? i supposes this isnt that pressing....
