Thanks a million folks, at long last it is all working fine. There was a trick to it, though I don't know exactly how the problem first occurred, or why doing what I did fixed it. The files that were getting republished were in the root directory (all the site files), in spite of the subfolder command, and were getting updated, however....there was no way for these files to be viewed by subscribers. I went through and deleted all of these page and jpg files, did a "save as" on my true site file, then I unpublished the site files in the members folder by uploading a site that only had one page (rather than 40 or so). Once I republished the "renamed" site file, everything was peachy. This may have been a long and strange route, but it got the job done. One mystery solved, mysteriously. So the critical ops are over, but if anyone has a nice, shiny layman's description for what just happened, it might be useful for future goobers like me. Once again, Thanks so much.

First let me break the ice. I am your resident TCH NOOB (and proud of it). In my beautiful fantasy world, I never need help with anything Oh, wait! I can only get there with a hard blow to the head! darn. I am quite adept at CSB (using it since it was Trellix offered by Dellhost), but never with subdirectories, before. Here is my specific challenge: I am trying post updates to my site's public_html/members/ folder (protected by newly installed and working nicely aMember script) but my changes are not going there. Note: this is not a browser issue, I purge it more than once a day, and have it setup to look for new site versions every time I use it. I have made changes to the host setup in CSB, but it either tells me that the files are identical to those already posted (which, at least as evidenced by the many text and link changes, is not quite true and means, at least to me, that the destination is still wrong) or simply is unable to publish at all, depending on the changes I make to the host setup. I guess what I need first is some detailed information (so detailed that, worst case scenario, I can have one of my cats do it for me), specific to the CSB host setup fields, to get my updates to the right folder. I have people signing up (for money) as we speak, and am very distressed not being able to update my content to a location where they can read it. I understand that I can move the files manually in my cPanel file manager, but that is like applying a little pinky band-aid to a _________ (fill in your own preferred mortal wound type) Yuck!
