Hi, I am a newbie for sure. I just joined TCH and the forums. I had a similar problem with Outlook. I had everything setup properly or so I thought.. (and by the way GREAT JOB with all of the explanations and information out here/there you all). I had my DNS changed and I set up OE (Outlook Express) for my wife with no problems, although clicking on that automatic setup did not work for me. Outlook is the progarm that I use and it just would not log on... I got that same basic error message... the difference was "bad login". Over and over this was happening. I tried going in and changing all of the text I had written for the account information in case "murphy" was visiting and I was not seeing something correctly. I have mine checking every 10 minutes. I thought maybe it was the password or something so I checked by setting up the same Account in OE to see if it would work... and it did! So I completely deleted the mail account I had originally set up in Outlook and then set the same account up again... same info and everything... and now it works. Go figure. I have no idea why but it did work. I don't even know if it is pertinent, but I was reading through the forums for help so I just thought I would chime in.
