  1. Please add Story Talk to the TCH Family: 1. http://www.story-talk.com (no subdomain stuff this time -- I've set it all up properly now!) 2. Story Talk 3. Providing interviews about your life experiences, which are transcribed, edited, and produced into a book. 4. Commercial 5. The link to TCH is at the bottom of the home page. Thank you again for your help!
  2. Please add Story Talk to the TCH Family: 1. (This URL forwards to a subdomain of my account, storytalk.interscientific.net) 2. Story Talk 3. Providing interviews about your life experiences, which are transcribed, edited, and produced into a book. 4. Commercial 5. The link to TCH is at the bottom of the home page. Thank you for your help! 3. Thank you both for the info. At least I can get the year-to-date (I hadn't tried the "---" option for month of reporting in AWStats), which will be good enough for my purposes.
  4. Is it possible to configure Cpanel to obtain the cumulative number of hits and visitors to particular pages over time periods longer than 1 month? If so, how does one go about doing it? Thank you, Devon
  5. Scott, Thank you putting my site in the Extended Family! Right now my site ranks high on several SE (e.g., Google, Yahoo) when searching by my business name. That's good enough for my purposes, and there will be more inbound links over time. If the ranking falls, then I'll revisit the issues mentioned in the SEO tips you referred me to. So, thank you for your feedback - I appreciate your help. Devon
  6. Thank you very much for your helpful answers!
  7. I have some very basic questions about what functions are lost or preserved when a server goes down. For instance, when a server goes down: 1) are people surfing the web able to access my site on the server? 2) am I able to access my account via ftp or Cpanel? 3) am I able to receive mail through POP3 or send mail through SMTP (if I've assigned TCH as my mail servers)? I'm guessing the answer to all of these is "no". If the answer to 3 is no, what happens when someone sends me an email message and the server is down? Will the sender's message get bounced back to them? Or will it be held in some sort of electronic limbo until the server comes back up and then be sent to me? Also, is the server for email the same physical server as that for the account's web site? Finally, does TCH employ some sort of mirroring, such that if a server fails, requests to that server are automatically sent to a backup server without any noticeable break in service? I apologize for all of the questions, but I couldn't find answers to them elsewhere on the TCH site or forums. I'm in no hurry for a response, but such information might be useful to novices like me in the rare event that our server goes down. Thank you!
  8. I've now completed the first stage of my site. There will be more changes to come over time, but the foundation is there. I mainly want the search engines to rank my site high in response to the name of my business. I've got a few external links to the site, so it ranks high on Google by the business name. Thank you! 9. 1. Interdisciplinary Scientific Research 2. Interdisciplinary Scientific Research 3. Interdisciplinary Scientific Research conducts research and provides consulting in the social and health sciences. 4. Yes, there is a link back to TCH on index page. Rank evaluation (please - although I will be developing the site more in the next several weeks) Thank you very much!
