The url is: http://www.singles-in.com/votedata/votelog.txt file manager shows permissions as 666. the directory shows 766. the script is located in the public_html directory and refers to the file as "votedata/votelog.txt'

I can't get any PHP scripts to create, read or write files. I've set the directory permissions to rw-rw-rw- and it still doesn't matter. I can't create new files, read existing ones, etc. I've tried support but they were no help. Any ideas? The same scripts that work fine on my PC fail when installed on my site.
