I certainly do weekly backups and I understand if the problem started happening too quickly TCH did not have time to send out emails before but how about after the fact just a suggestion I was stumped to what could have happened until I opened a ticket and got the answer some others out there might have more trouble allso. Rick I have joined the forum for server 342 along with 61 and 382 for my other sites I did not know there was such a thing until now this should keep me informed in the future.

Yes I had posted a ticket and I found what the problem was I was on server 42 it was having errors TCH replaced it with one on the new raid hard drive arrays in the process had to use a 3 day old backup. Good that it on a raid array now this should prevent these kind of troubles in the future If this were to happen again in the future I think TCH should send out a email to everyone on the affected server letting them know what happened and especially if there is any advanced notice so I could run a extra backup or at least let my customers know what’s going on. I am very concerned and a little confused. All the data from the last 3 days on my site has disappeared at first I thought it was some strange data base error on my forum but when I checked a couple files that I had uploaded to a directory yesterday they are gone too. When I check my awstats I see no traffic for those 3 days. I know there was traffic during those days I used the site my self those days and I am receiving emails about missing post on the site. I have been with TCH for a couple years now and am very happy with the hosting. I have 3 sites hosted here. The one problem I need a solution to is being able to do a reliable full backup and restore. I am able to generate a full backup thru c panel but I there is not a cpanel option to restore the full backup. Thanks Rick

Check out this thread phbb worm before you do anything drastic to your forum it looks like if you do it right you can fix it while leaving the data base intact

I had a worm infect my forum. I had tch restore my coplete site for me but the problem persited. finally I deleted my whole public directory then had them restore again. This fixed the problems that the worm caused my index is back to normal but now my forum at least part of my data base is just about a year old the newest post is jan 2004 and I have 400 post instead of 1600 but the users 1668 are all up to date. Any Ideas Rick

I have made some progress after I deleted the forum directory and did a full restore the virus seems to have gone, But now my data base is from a year ago I have asked tch to restore just the data base I have my fingers crossed that this will get my data back Rick

Yes it is phbb and I think it is some kind of worm althogh not the one qouted here, My Problem now is that a full restore of my site does not fix the problem either I have even gone back as far a november 2. I was thinking maybe I have to delete my forum directory then have the site restored Rick

Something happened to the data base for my forum it looks like it was hacked into. I had support restore the complete site for me but the data base is still corrupted. My question is does the data base have to be restored sepratly. Rick
