  1. Thanks, Scott. I am using GoLive. If I can take those attributes out without changing anything, I will do so. Thanks for your help!
  2. Thank you very much for taking the time to point me in the right direction. I will take your suggestions one by one and try to implement them. Some of them are over my head right now, but I will look them up! I tried the validator but I'm afraid I didn't understand a word of it. But if I could ask you (or whoever knows) one more question, what do you mean by browser errors? Thanks again for your help. Rock Sign
  3. Hi. I have already been added to the family, but I didn't ask for a search engine rank evaluation at the time because I hadn't done any research on it yet, and I wanted to do what I could with it first. However, I'm not much smarter now than I was before. This ranking stuff is kind of confusing to me. Anyhow, if you have a minute could you give me your 2 cents? Thank you! www.burke-design.net
  4. Thank you, Dick and Don, and also Scott for adding my site. Yup, I've got to stop capitalizing things! I forget that this stuff is case-sensitive. Thanks again!
  5. Thank you so much, Jim and youneverknow! Your compliments mean a lot to me - sometimes I feel like there's so much to learn about Web design that I might as well not even begin! But it's so much fun I just gotta keep trying. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the broken link. I did change a folder name and GoLive didn't quite catch all the places where it was referenced. I will fix it tomorrow when I can see straight. Past my bedtime now! Thanks again. Laura P.S. Oh yeah, our temperatures have been just lovely lately. How does -30 sound? Not to mention the 300 or so inches of snow we get per year. But the scenery does make up for it.
  6. Thank you, Tracy, for taking the time to reply! I did give your suggestion a try and had the images open in the same window. I still got the PayPal cart again when I clicked "back to photography." The thing is, even if that had worked, I really want the images to open in a new window, simply because I personally like it better when it's set up that way. But anyway, I am still stumped. Unfortunately, I know nothing about javascript either. I don't even know where to find the code you pasted in your reply! Thanks again for your help.
  7. Hi! Please add Burke Design to the family. This is my first site, and it has already undergone extensive changes and will continue to, I'm sure! I use it to display my photography, greeting cards, and other graphic design projects. I have gladly included a text link to TCH at the bottom of my main page. I love TCH! Thank you, Laura
  8. I have read the pros and cons of various shopping carts on this forum, and it seems like PayPal will work fine for me. The problem is that when you add something to the cart, you go to the cart each time instead of only when you click on "view cart." This wouldn't be too big a deal, but when you click "continue shopping," the window still stays open in the back so that once I'm back to my site and start moving around, I get the PayPal window again. Does this make sense? If not, try this if you have a minute. Go to www.burke-design.net/html/photography.html and click on the tree photo in the upper left corner. Add it to your cart and then click "continue shopping." When you get back to the tree, click "back to photography." That just puts you back at the shopping cart page, which you can close, but I'm not sure the customer will know to do that. Does anyone know a piece of code or something that would make this window close? I e-mailed PayPal for help, but they only referred me to their shopping cart manual which I had already read thoroughly, and it didn't help. Thank you to anyone who can give me a hand!
  9. Hey, many thanks, Turtle! It worked - once I remembered that my site ends in .net instead of .com, that is! I really appreciate your fast help. But just for anyone else who might be a newbie like me reading this thread, make sure to take out the colon before mysite in the code below. That threw me for a minute. <A HREF="http://:mysite.com/guestbook/" TARGET="_top">Sign my guestbook</A> Thanks again! Thumbs Up
  10. Hi all: I have a beginner's question. I am trying to install the Advanced Guestbook. (I suppose I should have started with the simple one! ) Actually, I did install it and I see the folder is there in my public_html folder. But how do I link to it? Let's say I don't even want to do any fiddling with it to change it or anything more complicated than just linking to it. I am not sure how to get the link on my page to open it at all. I put in some text on my page saying, "Sign my guestbook" but then...what next? I haven't uploaded this page yet so it would do me no good to post my url at this point. Can someone point me in the right direction? I won't be able to check the message board for a few hours but I will be back to see if any kind souls can direct this newbie. Thank you!
