  1. Thanks for the suggestion Thomas. Unfortunately, the causes suggested in this article dont apply to my situation. Furthermore, I get the problem on multiple computers, which are running different os/firewall/antivirus programs. Email is working again now, after only about 1 hour down, but based on recent experience, I'll see the problem again w/in a week. Any guess on where the problem lies?
  2. I've been having frequent problems when I cannot connect to my POP3 email for hours, and then the problem just goes away. I get the outlook message: Task 'me@domain.ext - Receiving' reported error (0x80042108) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' I have seen other people have had similar problems, but I am still unsure what the issue is (the TCH servers seem to be up; I can connect via webmail; and I can access my website...just not my POP3 account) Based on suggestion I saw on this forum, I ran tracert, and when I did, I found that one hop timed out. Does this mean this is where the problem is? Any thoughts, as this seems to be a common problem?
  3. I've just enabled Spam Assassin and the Spam Box. How do you use Horde to access the Spam Box? Which account/password do you use? Dennis <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  4. I think I did exactly as you did, Created the folder /home/mywebsite/public_html/junk Selected WebProtect in CPanel and selected and protected (checked box) /home/mywebsite/public_html/junk and gave it the name myjunk Added a user with a password Went to file manager and saw that .htaccess was created in /home/mywebsite/public_html/junk however, Went to file manager and opened the folder /home/mywebsite/.htpasswds but there was not a folder named junk inside (the only folder inside was named _private) Also, the user I added in the web protect process never appeared in the web protect dialogue box. This seems like it should be easy enough. Any ideas? Any possibility that one of the files or folders that TCH provided by default when I opened my account have been corrupted?
  5. I've been trying to password protect one of my directories using Web Protect, but CPanel doesn't seem to accept the user names/passwords I enter. The user names I add never appear in the web protect screen, and when I go to the site and am prompted for my username and password, the system doesn't accept what I enter. Also, when I protect the directory, I can see that CPanel has added an .htaccess file to the directory. However, the AuthUserFile command in the .htaccess file points to a folder inside the root directory .htpasswds folder that doesn't appear to exist. When I use web protect, is this folder supposed to be created? I've searched the forum but can find any posts with this specific problem. Any suggestions? Steve P
