ok. Assume from that, that Fantastico is a dead-end for the foreseeable future. Are there any other approaches anyone can recommend to safely install a current, supported version of Joomla on a (actually a few) TCH accounts?

Any updates on Fantastico testing and/or replacement? Would love to be able to move beyond Joomla 1,5 after the very long delay - but not familiar with install workarounds or comfortable with word of the security issues related to them.
